On her first turn, Betty draws, but doesn't have any cards from the Lover era to play, so she discards and ends her turn.
Inez happens to have both Cruel Summer (#2) and The Man (#3) so puts the two-card sequence into her collection, opening the Lover era.
Other players can now play single cards from the Era, but only if they are in a run that's on the table. Olivia has the song Lover (#5), but can’t play it alone, as it is not in sequence.
James has no cards from the Lover era.
On Betty’s turn, she luckily draws You Need to Calm Down (#4), which can be played immediately as a single card, building off the run already established by Inez.
When it's Olivia’s turn, she will now now be able to play her Lover (#5) card.
